Facebook Messenger for Apple Watch is becoming history. The application will no longer be available starting from the end of May, 2023.

"Users will still receive notifications from Messenger on the Apple Watch when they are synchronized, but starting at the end of May, they will no longer be able to respond from the watch. They will be able to continue using Messenger on iPhone, desktop and on the web," said a company spokesperson Meta.

In recent days, users have received warnings about the removal of the Messenger application for Apple Watch, and the company Meta has confirmed this change. Over the years, I've seen more and more companies giving up on offering an app for Apple Watch, and now Meta is the latest major platform to ditch a dedicated Apple smartwatch app.

Changes to Messenger on Apple Watch

After May 31st, Messenger won't be available as an Apple Watch app, but you can still get Messenger notifications on your watch.

At the moment, the WhatsApp application for Apple Watch remains available, through which users can respond to received messages from the notification.
