Facebook Messenger for Apple Watch becomes history. The application will no longer be available starting from the end of May, 2023.
"Users will still receive notifications from Messenger on Apple Watch when they are synchronized, but starting with the end of May, they will no longer be able to answer from the watch. They will be able to continue using Messenger on iPhone, desktop and on the web", said a company spokesperson Meta.
In recent days, users have received warnings about the removal of the Messenger app for Apple Watch, and the company Meta confirmed this change. Over the years, I've seen more and more companies giving up on offering an app for Apple Watch, and now Meta is the latest major platform to drop a dedicated smartwatch app from Apple.
Changes to Messenger on Apple Watch
After May 31st, Messenger won't be available this year Apple Watch app, but you can still get Messenger notifications on your watch.
At the moment, the WhatsApp application remains available for Apple Watch, through which users can respond from the notification to the received messages.
