Samsung will stop production of the Galaxy Alpha smartphone in 2015

Just a few months after the launch of the Galaxy Alpha smartphone, Samsung intends to stop its production in favor of a mid-range model with a more affordable price, namely the Galaxy A5, a terminal launched last month in China.

Even if the Galaxy Alpha is among the best smartphones produced by Samsung, and despite the fact that it is the most beautiful phone released by the South Korean company to date, the main reason why the decision was made to stop its production it seems that it is the rather high price, which forces the terminal to compete against better equipped smartphones launched by rival companies. In addition, Galaxy Alpha users have complained quite a lot about the battery life, which is very poor.

The Galaxy A5 will be officially promoted from January in various regions of the world, but the production of the Galaxy Alpha will not be stopped immediately, as Samsung first plans to exhaust the stock of production materials for it. By replacing the Galaxy Alpha with the Galaxy A5, a terminal included in the mid-range class, Samsung is trying to regain the popularity lost in the last year and to reorganize the structure of the smartphone division, quite weakened after the failure suffered with the Galaxy S5 flagship. The Galaxy A5 has a design inspired by that of the Galaxy Alpha, with a thin body made of quality materials such as metal, but its technical specifications allow the terminal to be sold at a more affordable price, around $360.
