Samsung plans to launch a foldable smartphone screen to late 2015

According to the vice president of the Samsung Display division of the South Korean company Samsung, the mobile phone industry is preparing for a new generation of devices, namely devices with foldable displays (which can be completely folded, side by side), the way for them being already opened by curved screen devices such as LG G Flex, Samsung Galaxy Round, or Galaxy Note Edge. He also specified that the company's display manufacturing division will have the capacity to produce monthly between 30.000 and 40.000 such flexible screens for smartphones by the end of next year, which, apparently, no competitor Samsung will not be able to match it until the end of 2016.

The production of flexible screens by Samsung Display could also represent a distance of the division from Samsung Electronics (which is currently the main customer), this wanting in a maximum of three years to sell at least half of the displays produced by other companies producing mobile devices. In addition, Samsung plans to perfect the technology of AMOLED displays, so that they can compete directly with LCD ones, but at the same time to reduce the production price for the respective displays, in an attempt to increase the sales volume .

Although it has not yet been determined exactly what the finished product will look like, if Samsung manages to launch the first such mobile device, with a foldable display, by the end of 2015, it will most likely be another limited edition, as was the case for the Galaxy Note Edge.
