03 May 2012 Samsung announced that the release date of the much awaited Galaxy S III

After a long period of waiting for a sign from the direct competitor iPhone 5, the Koreans from Samsung announced a possible release date for the last generation of the Galaxy series. After many gropings and different designed concepts, it seems that the Korean manufacturer has decided to be the first to draw the sword from its sheath in the war with Apple's iPhone 5, the latter announcing the launch of its flagship in the fall.

The Samsung Galaxy S III i9300 is announced to be launched on May 22, 2012, in London at an event dedicated exclusively to this product. In this article we will present the main changes brought to the new model and some photos thrown on the net by the media.

CPU:

As has been announced for a long time, the new device will be equipped with a processor with 4 cores (Quad-Core Processor) ARM frequent A9 working on a 1,5GHz or 1,8GHz chipset Exynos 4212 which achieves almost double performance compared to the American competitor iPhone 4S, mainly due to nanotechnology on which the manufacturing process is based (32nm).

Display:

The new Galaxy S III will be equipped with a larger screen than his younger brother, Super AMOLEDthe approx. 4,7" with a density of 312-316ppi which ensures a special comfort in high-resolution graphic applications. Only one detail was in suspense: the Home button which for Android v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich was not absolutely necessary, but eventually opted for a button elongated and thinner, more practical and easy to use.

Another detail worth mentioning is the layout of the icons on 5 columns instead of 4 in previous versions, thus creating a high density of shortcuts on one of the multiple interactive screens, to your favorite applications. The camera present on the new Galaxy is equipped with a 12MP sensor, which provides a resolution of 4000×3000 pixels. Another novelty that comes with the new Samsung i9300 Galaxy S III is present in the sensor section which, in addition to the accelerometer, gyroscope and proximity sensor, also has a barometer. The model is thinner than its smaller brother with only 7mm thickness, the battery includes 1750mAh which we hope will ensure better talk times and stand-by (a big problem with most current smartphones). In terms of hardware, we should also mention the 2GB RAM memory, which ensures demanding applications all the conditions for a fluent operation.

We await with interest the future release (if they don't intervene again with changes and new postponements) and of course the answer from Apple, to see who will win the status of the best phone of 2012. All the content of this article is made based on unofficial information, Samsung still maintaining total discretion regarding this model, given the importance of this event for the company's future strategy.
