Nokia Lumia Icon Review: A step forward for Windows Phone

When Nokia came out on the market Lumia 1520I saw another side of Windows Phone. It used the best hardware features available and a wave of familiar applications finally arrived in the Windows Phone Store. Even so, we were a little worried that the 6-inch size of the screen would limit its operation.

In February, Nokia announced Lumia Icon, a new Windows Phone with identical features, but with a 5-inch screen.

HARDWARE

Some of the features of the phone are the Lumia Icon PureView Camera is 20MP, the 5 inch display and 1080p, 2GB 2.420mAh RAM and battery.
Even if the metal parts look good and offer high durability, they are still prone to scratches. This is a problem that the last versions of the iPhone and HTC One also had.

As expected, dark colors are darker on Lumia Icon than on 1520's screen, while lighter ones are just diffused. One of the nice things about this type of display is that those dark colors combine with the facet, making the screen lighter than it really is. Nokia offers the ability to adjust color saturation as well as color temperature.
Since Icon ese exclusively from Verizon LTE radio bands compatible works with Verizon (700 / AWS). 3G supports CDMA for situations where it is not available 4G. It is disappointing that no LTE roaming support whatsoever for those who travel internationally can use GSM networks worldwide.

SOFTWARE

Windows Phone 8 is on its third major update, and the latest firmware allows the Icon phone to contain the best features on the market. Nokia took this update, customized it with its own bundle of software features and called it “Black updates".
Required applications from Verizon are limited and can be removed so you can get everything you want from Nokia and Microsoft: you over 500 applications from Nokia, Here applications for navigation, Application to update room, Date sense, some applications Bing and so on. There is nothing out of the ordinary here, nothing that I've met before.

Nokia has always excelled in terms of picture quality, and recently launched PureView technology, which the Lumia 1020 also has in its 41MP camera. That camera is so impressive that not even the 20MP camera of the Lumia 1520 phone can compare to it. The Lumia Icon's camera is close to that of the 1520, since they share most of the features and specifications.

The best part of Nokia's photographic experience is the camera application, which also offers a manual to guide you to the perfect picture - ISO, white balance, exposure and the speed with which the photo is taken can be adjusted in real time. , so don't waste time looking through the menu settings. And, as part of Nokia's Black Update, you now have the option to copy your high-resolution RAW (DNG) picture. If you have limited space (32GB means a lot, but there is no microSD card slot), we recommend changing the RAQ resolution (which takes up 25MB of space) to JPEG.

Lumia Icon is the ultimate Windows Phone device. As it did with the Lumia 1520, Nokia managed to combine the fantastic image experience with the hardware. It's a sensible option for Verizon users who want the best photography experience.
