Miro and Tipo, new members of the middle-class Xperia series of Sony are released this summer
The new members of the Xperia family, Sony Xperia Miro and Tipo are trying to impose themselves on the mid-range smartphone market with ICS at an affordable price. The new models were released on June 13, 2012 earlier than they were announced, thanks to a popular Facebook campaign that reduced by 20 seconds for every like on their page. Xperia Tipo also comes equipped with a Dual-SIM version, thus being the first Dual-SIM with Android from Sony. The new models are equipped with an 800MHz single-core processor and an Adreno 200 graphics module, 512MB of RAM and 4GB (Xperia Miro) and 2,9GB (Xperia Tipo), respectively, i.e. the minimum requirements for running the latest version of Android ( Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0), so it is unlikely that it will be able to run more complex applications and new high-definition games.
Xperia Miro and Tipo are equipped with 5MP and 3,15MP sensor cameras that can record VGA and store the captures on a microSD card of up to 32GB. Autonomy is ensured by a 1500mAh battery that can provide 6 hours of talk time in the 3G network.
