There were two full days for Apple and owners of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. In less than 24 hours, Apple launched iOS 11.2.5 in the final version, available for download and installation for users around the world and iOS 11.3 in beta for developers. The latest version comes with a host of new features and capabilities that will be available to all users starting this spring.
iOS 11.2.5 - News
iOS 11.2.5 does not come with very visible changes to users. Support is inserted for HomePod (the smart box to be released by Apple soon), and Siri has been taught to "read" the news. This feature is only available in the US, UK, and Australia. "Hey Siri, play the news".
In addition to these news, iOS 11.2.5 resolves a number of bugs (such as blocking notifications for messages coming in an Exchange mail account) and security issues.
iOS 11.3 - What's New
At no more than 24 hours after launching iOS 11.2.5, Apple also launched the future iOS 11.3 in Beta for developers and for those who want to test this new system before launching the final version. Version expected to be available this spring.
As we have been accustomed to in recent years, all the .3 iOS versions have made the most notable changes. Neither iOS 11.3 will make an exception.
– Reality Augmented to another level. With the introduction of ARKit 1.5, users will be able to enjoy new experiences of augmented reality. 2D images such as landscapes, posters, or artwork can be transposed into virtual spaces where users can add new items and objects.
Developers will be able to develop more complex applications, able to interact at a more advanced level with the real world around. In addition, with the new technology, elements can also be added to vertical surfaces, not just horizontal, as it is today.
The real world will be seen through the camera at a resolution of better 50% and the possibility of auto-focus for a clearer view of the space in question.
– New Animozes for iPhone X. A new interactive animation set will be added, which can be used in chat conversations or in notes.
– The Health application will be more developed. Currently only in certain geographic areas and only some clinics will be connected to the application. With the new support, the user will be able to send and receive health reports directly from the clinic. Everything will be done in maximum security. Encrypted data and access only on a password basis.
– Battery and performance management. This change comes amid the scandal that Apple has been accused of deliberately degrading the performances and batteries of the old iPhone devices, favoring sales for new models.
In "Settings"? "Battery" will add energy consumption reports and other information about the "health" status of the battery. From here, the user will be able to choose between high performance with the risk of the device shutting down or weaker performance, but eliminating this risk.
Changes will also be made to Apple Music and Apple News. In the new versions, attention will be paid to video content.
Advanced Mobile Location (AML) is a feature that will also be introduced, but will only be available in certain areas of the world. It is a system that automatically sends the user's location when it is accessing an emergency number.
iOS 11.3 will be available on all iPhone and iPad models with iOS 11 support and iPod Touch.iPhone 5s and newer models, iPad Air and newer models.
