Android 2.3 Gingerbread on HTC Desire, Desire Z and Desire HD?
Not exactly good news for owners HTC Desire, HTC Desire Z and HTC Desire HD who have put in plan to install new 2.3 Android Gingerbread.
In an announcement on HTC's official Facebook page, an article appeared according to which HTC Desire devices will not receive the update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
Our engineering teams have been working hard for the past few months to find a way to bring Gingerbread to the HTC Desire without compromising the HTC Sense experience you've come to expect from our phones. However, we are sorry to announce that we have been forced to accept there is not enough memory to allow us both to bring Gingerbread and keep the HTC Sense experience on HTC Desire. We're sincerely sorry for the Disappointment That this news Some of you to bring apr.
If you are not too interested in HTC Sense, you can find forum XDA Developers Gingerbread ROM unofficially that you can install it on handsetBefore you can get to work, you will need to download and install ROM Manager from Android Market.
Those from htc have a special version of android 2.3, at least for desire, but it is not made for the general public. I installed this version and I can say that it works well.
